Reference Desk

This is where you will find a faculty librarian to assist you in your research.  The reference desk is staffed most, but not all hours the library is open.

You can call the reference desk at 570-422-3594.  You can e-mail us at our individual addresses.  From the library's home page, you can initiate a chat session all times the reference desk is staffed.

Circulation Services

The Circulation Desk, which is located near the main entrance on the first floor of Kemp Library, is responsible for checking out all materials in the library, including course reserves and laptops. These policies cover borrowing and loan privileges as well as fines, fees, and all other library charges that users of the library may incur. They are formulated to facilitate access to materials and services in Kemp Library while concurrently protecting the library’s collections.

Reference Department/Government Documents

Professor Ramona Hylton is the coordinator of the Reference Department and Government Documents.  If you need

Library Card

Your University issued ID card is your library card.  The barcode number on the reverse side is your borrower ID.  ESU alumni, Friends of the Library, and full time Monroe County educators are eligible to receive courtesy cards, issued by the Access Services Department. Certain materials may only be signed out by ESU students, staff and faculty.  These include, but may not be limited to reserve materials and laptops.

You must have your ID card to borrow materials, including reserve items and laptops.  Reserve materials and laptops may only be signed out toe ESU students, staff and faculty.

All items taken out with your ID card are the responsibility of the cardholder. If your card is lost or stolen, please notify the Circulation Desk as soon as possible so that the card can be blocked from use.

The library reserves the right to suspend the borrowing privileges of anyone abusing library policies and privileges.

Questions or comments concerning the lending policies of Kemp Library should be directed to the Circulation Desk, at (570) 422-3126.

Curriculum Materials Center (CMC)

The Curriculum Resource Center is located on the ground floor of Kemp Library.  As you progress through the Education Major, you will find this collection extremely useful, as it houses elementary and secondary teacher's guides from many publishers, teaching aides from globes to skeletons, and many other items to enhance your learning process.

For more information concerning the CMC, click here.

Located just outside the CMC is the Children's Collection.  It can be searched through our on-line catalog, Pilot, You can limit searchs to just the Children's Collection by selecting the Post Limit option, and selecting the Children's.
