These databases are what we call multidisciplinary --- they cover a wide range of subject areas. These databases will include references to popular as well as peer-reviewed articles. You can start with one of these databases. A good strategy is to use a multidisciplinary or general databases as well as other databases that are subject specific.
Our Discovery Service allows you to search across many of our databases (including our book catalog) with one search. Just keep in mind that not every database is searchable this way so you may want explore what is included and excluded to see if your topic will be covered. Ask a librarian if you're wondering which databases are excluded.
