You will see in the top navigation, or in the left box Quick Nav, a page for each floor of the library. Each map is oriented the same way, with the bottom edge being the main entrance of the building.
Click on the relevant floor and you will see stack map for that floor. A stack map labels each section of shelves and has a corresponding key so that you can easily identify what shelf the book you are looking for is on.
How to Use the Detailed Key:
Using the Key to the Stack Map, you can identify what call numbers are on what shelves. For example, if you wanted an item with a call number of 408.589 H658c you would look at the Key, look at Main Collection and find where 408.589 fits in. It would be on shelf M2-118 because it falls between 407 M532L2 and 418 H367c (page 3 of the Key).
The Key tells you the call numbers on both sides of the stack. The left column is the contents of one side, the right column is the call numbers on the other side.
The Key is color coded to help you find the shelving areas you're looking for more easily. There is a simple key if you want to browse the section, and an in depth key that shows all the call numbers. If you're confused about call numbers, check out the Dewey tab of this guide.
Most items you look for will be in the Main Collection section. If there is an R, E, F, G, B, or other letter before the call number, the catalog will tell you what section that's in so you can reference the key. For example: B is Biography, E is Easy Children's, R is Reference, etc.
