Federal Documents Depository

The Kemp Library at East Stroudsburg University (ESU) is a congressionally designated depository for United States government documents. Public access to the government documents collection is guaranteed by public law. (Title 44 United States Code)

The Kemp Library is a selective federal depository library under the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). It was designated as federal despository in 1966. FDLP is a program under the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO).

The majority of the print federal documents are shelved in the Government Documents Collection located on the lower level of the library.

The Kemp Library also receives all publications that are made available through the Pennsylvania State Depository Library Collection.

Locating Documents in Kemp Library

Many documents are cataloged and are accessible through the Kemp Library's online catalog, Pilot.

Those that are not cataloged are accessed through sources located in the Documents Office.

Using Government Documents Collection

Primary use of this collection is for the faculty, staff and students of East Stroudsburg University.  It is also available for use by the general public.

The computers near the Reference Desk can be used by the public to access federal documents available online.  All computers on the ESU campus can be use by ESU faculty, staff and students to access federal documents available online.
