Guide for any students in a mathematics course pursuing research.

Introduction

This page contains resources on how to increase your distance learning skills. There are written articles/editorials and videos. Resources are listed in no particular order.

Please review for what works best for you. If you have a method that you find works better for you that is not here, please let me know so I can include it!

General and repeated ideas for success include:

  • Have a dedicated workspace (try to not let this be your bed, or it may interrupt your sleep)
  • Engage with your learning and with your classmates/friends
  • Take regular breaks - get up and move/stretch

If you have textbooks for your class, it may be a good idea to buy them in print (or get them from the library) - this gives you not only a break from your computer but studies have shown that you retain new information that you read better in print then when read on the screen.
