Step 1 : When you login to your student email account click on the gear icon for settings (top right corner, fifth from the right).


Step 2: The settings menu will open. At the bottom you will see “View all Outlook settings” – click this

 Step 3: In the advanced settings, go to “Mail” then select “Forwarding” and make sure “enable forwarding” is selected. Type in the email address you would like to forward this email account to. Click save.

Your email will now be forwarded.

When looking for textbooks you have several options (buying, renting and free):

  • The University Bookstore (buy or rent)
  • Seeing if Kemp Library has it (or your local library) (watch your check out return dates)
  • Seeing if Kemp Library has it on reserve (use it in the building)
  • Seeing if another library has it and you can borrow it for a while through interlibrary loan (try both EZBorrow and ILLiad)
  • Buying or Renting a copy elsewhere like Amazon. If you want to buy or rent a copy elsewhere, or see prices try using CheapestTextbooks.com - it will search several book retailer websites for you at once and give you the best sale prices (including shipping). You can also sell your books to them if the bookstore won't take them. 

Not sure if your email was in a data breach? Try a service like Have I Been PWNED or Firefox Monitor? Have I Been PWNED allows you to check if any of your emails have been in a data breach, and you can sign up for alerts if you want. Don’t want to give your email? No problem, you can just check your passwords. Firefox Monitor will check you for data breaches, and using Firefox saved passwords (Lockwise) or Chrome saved passwords will check if any are compromised for you too and recommend new secure ones. 

Make sure you use strong passwords - this does not mean you have to do the capitalizing, weird characters and numbers unless it's required. Longer passwords are more secure - and this article explains why.  You can Google many more articles on the topic, but this article is clearer than most with fewer ads. For example, this one goes into more detail but wants you to sign up for a course (course not recommended, I know nothing about it).

You can also test your password at sites like How Secure is My Password. 

Please also remember to ALWAYS sign out of public computers (libraries, computer labs, etc.). You also should delete files you used on those computers and log out of email or anything else you were logged into like Facebook too as you finish using it - depending on the computer settings, logging out of the computer does NOT log you out of everything else and delete your files. 

Depending on your background, you may or may not have a strong understanding of English language sentence structure. There are several software tools available to assist with this, beyond things like Microsoft Word's spelling/grammar check which is not always correct. 

Some are free, some are paid, some have tiered options (many have tiered options).

Here are a few "top" lists of online grammar and punctuation checkers from various websites for 2021. Your mileage may vary, please thoroughly investigate and review anything you intend to use.
