The University Archives holds most, but not all, commencement programs dating back to 1894 (1st commencement) to the present day. Older commencement materials can also contain baccalaureate invitations, class day exercise invitations, and other items. Generally the commencement programs note the schedule for the ceremonies and lists graduates and speakers.
Graduations were often held outside. In later years they were held at Abeloff Auditorium, Eiler-Martin Stadium, and Koehler Fieldhouse.
